In their response cited the fact that Rossi had been pressured by many organizations to stop the development of E- Kat, organizations that feared that the device would be a huge success and harm investment to others who had invested in other forms of energy like coal and oil. It is believed that it is because of this pressure that Rossi decided to withdraw from working with Defkalion, but Rossi has neither confirmed or denied these claims. Despite the cessation of production in Greece, as far as the public knows, is Rossi's contract with Ampenergo still good. While it is still too early to say when or if E-Kat will ever see the mass market release, according to Rossi himself, 97 different E-Cat units are in operation on an international scale in homes across the world.
